The short answer to your question is that the Somerville Community Path project budget is very small so unfortunately, we do not plan to do any additional public engagement activity. In general however….at Alta, we’ve been having the same conversations in this challenging time. We know that each outreach process is going to be different depending on the specific project needs and community context. Our teams look forward to when we can return to including in-person engagement in our work, both to meet people where they are and because we love getting to know people in our communities. With bigger budget projects, especially, we’re also using tactics to remotely reach as many people as possible, regardless of online connections including: mail, radio, public TV, cell-phone compatible platforms, and text and phone. And making sure our communications are accessible and clear to people with different capabilities and who speak different languages. It’s a learning process for all of us!
